The reason of death is still unknown, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office told ABC7 Los Angeles.

Gregory’s older sister, Rebecca Hertzberg-Pfaffinger, told TMZ that he struggled with bipolar disorder, melancholy, and a sleep issue that kept him up for days at a time.

From 1986 to 1990, the late actor gained recognition for his portrayal of Brian Tanner in 101 episodes of ALF. It began with the main character, really called Gordon Shumway but abbreviated as “Alien Life Form,” after he smashed into the garage of the suburban Tanner family house. Behind the legendary performance was puppeteer Paul Fusco, who co-created the series with Tom Patchett.

Warner Bros. revealed in 2018 that it was in the early phases of developing a reboot. But when the project was unable to find a home, the plans were abandoned later that year. Shout! Factory declared in February that it had obtained the rights to ALF and will be creating new content in the same vein.
