On Saturday, July 13, TMZ stated that there was no indication of criminal activity when law authorities received a call from the housekeeper at around 10 am PT. Richard Simmons’ longtime publicist Tom Estey reported his passing to People magazine. He stated, “The world has truly lost an angel.”

Estey felt that this was a significant loss in Simmons’ life. Regarding Simmons, he previously told People, “He has saved millions of lives.” He looked after everyone else but himself for forty years.”

Despite not making public appearances since 2014, Simmons was nonetheless active on social media as of Saturday morning. In a recent post, he talked about how many birthday wishes he received the day before, which was his 76th birthday.

Richard Simmons expressed his gratitude for another year of life in an interview with the aforementioned magazine, saying, “I am grateful that I am here, that I am alive for another day.” My birthday will be spent helping people, which is what I do every day.” He was going to use it helping people, just like he does every other day.

Everything about Richard Simmons life and achievements

Born on July 12, 1948, to vaudeville artists, Milton Teagle ‘Richard’ Simmons grew up in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Richard has done a variety of odd jobs since he was a small child to support his family. Richard was overweight upon graduation from high school, weighing roughly 270 pounds, and classmates would frequently tease him about it.

Before, he received an anonymous letter alerting him to the dangers of obesity. He thus gained 118 pounds in two months due to improper diets, which put him in the hospital.

Richard studied nutrition after moving to Los Angeles in the 1970s, and in 1975 he opened Ruffage and Anatomy Asylum, a health food store and fitness facility. Among celebrities, it gained popularity. After writing best-selling books, creating workout DVDs, and organizing weight-loss cruises, Simmons went on to become a fitness icon in popular culture forty years later.

Simmons left the public eye at the beginning of 2014 while he healed from a knee injury. In 2014, he gave his final public appearance in January and finished teaching in February. But in spite of these deeds, he gave the public confidence in himself in a 2016 call to the Today Show, saying that he was well and only required some time off.

In the years that followed this incident, Simmons encountered a number of health issues, including severe dyspepsia in April 2017 and hospitalisation for dehydration in June 2016. Due to conjecture regarding his whereabouts, the Missing Richard Simmons podcast was eventually created (February 2017).

In addition to living with Teresa Reveles, his housekeeper, Simmons continued to communicate with his elder brother, Lenny.

Lenny said that he was happy to live there since he routinely cared to his garden and prepared meals for the hummingbirds. “He’s doing exactly what he wants to do,” he told the site. That’s not him, so it’s not like he’s just sitting around doing nothing but staring into nothing.”

Richard, however, revealed in March 2024 that he had a malignant tumor on his skin, which he claimed had been successfully cured. He also expressed regret for spreading false information in an earlier post that led some to believe he was close to passing away. Instead, he desired that everyone would live life to the fullest as he did.

Richard Simmons will always be recognized for his flamboyant attitude and unwavering dedication to helping others. Estey called him a global treasure whose commitment to health and hard work had a profound impact on a great number of people.
